Well, hello! And Happy Christmas Season to all of you wonderful folks! I just realized that the last time I updated my blog was about a year ago – also during Christmas season. I suppose there’s something about Christmas that prompts me to catch up on things I’ve left behind. This is definitely one of them! Forgive me for my lack of updates.
I just wanted to take a quick moment to update you on some of the things I’m up to during this busy season. For those of you who got a chance to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year, you may have heard a familiar voice, yet again. I’m so proud and happy to say that this was my third year recording on the finale for the parade. We recorded the song (called Santa By The Book) about a month ago at The Imagination House. It’s been such a surreal experience, knowing that my voice is featured in a parade that I’ve grown up watching. I also like to think that I’m a small (very small) part of heralding in the Christmas Season as Santa arrives on the square. 🙂 If you didn’t get a chance to see it, here’s the clip! Sadly, the anchors had to speak over our final notes but if you listen very carefully, you might just hear that pop-up at the end. That’s me!
I’m also excited to be traveling this December with some wonderful friends and talented musicians for Christmas. I’ll be doing several concerts with Al Denson in areas like Houston, New Orleans, Dallas and Mississippi. I’ll post those dates soon so be on the lookout and try to come out to say hello! I’d love to meet you.
Lastly, I am SO pumped to share about a new recording to be released this December with the lovely and talented Ian Patrick Gibbs. Ian is is a New York based actor currently touring with the 25th Anniversary Production of Les Miserables as Jean Prouvaire/Marius Cover. (You can find out more about him here). He graciously invited me to take part in his new Christmas album called Time Of Year For Miracles. Let me tell you, this album is SO gorgeous. I’m particularly excited about the duet we recorded called Grateful. It’s a new tune written and scored by my closest and most talented friend, Rick McKee, who also carries quite a musical resume as a composer and arranger for some of the biggest companies in the world (You can read more about him here). I can’t wait for you to hear it. I think it will be a beautiful reminder of all the things we have to be thankful for this holiday season. I’ll be sure to post an update as soon as it’s available on iTunes.
On that note, I am so very grateful for all of my musical friends and family that keep me encouraged and help me to do what I do. I can’t tell you what a blessing it is to be doing what I love for a living. I’m so very blessed. I pray the same for all of you.
Blessings to you and yours this season. Please don’t hesitate to send me a message or leave a comment! I love to hear from all of you!
All the best,
